Stitching is a lovely, restful, peaceful thing to do... except when you've got deadlines!

I think that as soon as my fingers know there's a deadline they cramp up and take forever. However, there's one deadline left for magazine work this year (hooray!), and then it's on to the backlog of stitching I've got to get done for Duncan. He is getting excessively annoyed with me, but I am getting a lot better at ignoring his little pouts and gouts of flame.

I've tried to really concentrate on getting stitching done, but unfortunately the last two weeks have featured a second round of gastro/flu for the kids (and me) plus Spencer bashing his head on the door frame (scary!), the washing machine going kaput (small piece of cane from clothes basket wedged in the pump), family duties and housework (oh yeah, I haven't washed my kitchen floor for almost a month- eek!) It's been a disaster. Plus my husband pulled out our old computers and we've been playing computer games together for the first time in two years... he's trouncing me at present, damn it!

I've almost finished Benjamin's cushion (see last post), which is great, because it's two weeks before his birthday. Cutting it fine! Then it's on to:
-finishing the peacock quilt (90% done)
-Egyptian chariot cushion (80% done)
-Shopping bag for Patchwork and Stitching magazine (20% done- see pic)
-Counting sheep (10% done)
-Filigree stitchery (0% done - see last post)

The shopping bag is going to be the same exact size as those awful green Safeway bags- but look a whole lot better. Very practical too- combining the shopping list and bag in the same item! Keep an eye out for it next year in P&S.

On the depressing side... unfortunately I've had to increase my postage rates for the first time, due to Australia Post increasing their stamp rates AGAIN. So now the rates are as follows:

Postage within Australia: $3 flat rate per order (not per pattern)
Postage overseas: $7.50

Well, must off and get stitching!

cheers,

Natashia
