Marching on...Marching on...

in

Well, another birthday is just around the corner, and I am now closer to 40 than 30. Sigh... Oh to be 26 again... However, it's also our 10 year wedding anniversary this week. Hooray! I've been married to a wonderful man for a decade! Worth celebrating! My husband is so awesome he's even taking a day off work so I can visit the craft show without cling-ons this year.

Duncan is as happy as a pig in mud, or dragon in a treasure trove as he's been asked to design another project for Homespun magazine this year, and he's got 2-3 more projects for Patchwork and Stitching on the go already as well. There's going to be some retro style Christmas gift bags too. The Silveness stitchery is almost finished (see November's news), and Duncan's doing some more filigree style stitchery designs as well.

Margaret-the-Magnificent has stepped out of her comfort zone and is completing her first foray into blanket stitching on the Baby Peacock quilt, and quite enjoying it. There's nothing like testing a quilt for beginners on a beginner! I'm working away solidly stitching the Indian Ornament quilt- only 2 more weeks of hand stitching, and I reckon I'll have it ready for assembly. I can't wait to show you the final. The diagram doesn't do the quilt justice. Once you've got all those lovely gold sparkly indian fabrics it just sings! I'm also going to add some extra beading, because Duncan loves Bling, but when the top is finished I'll post it here to show it off.

The Egyptian quilt is now checked, rechecked and quadruple checked, and my eyes are red with computer screen strain. I am hoping to have it up and available for purchase with a colour diagram instead of photograph in the next week or two (15th of March - ish). You can get a sneak peek of the fabrics I'm using here. I'm stitching the pieces on one at a time so that the fusible webbing doesn't lift off with too much handling. You can also see the use of baking paper and the template for easy assembly. After it's assembled, I simply peel off and stick to the background fabric. Stress free!

Happy stitching everyone,

Till next time,

Natashia
