It's hot, and it's hot, and it's hotter again. Duncan is sunbaking in the courtyard, with his little fat belly getting more and more leathery as the summer days go by. What have we been doing this month? We are trying to rev ourselves up for an all out attack on 2010 after a 'quiet' 2009. Well, it's been quiet work wise, but on the home front, the kids are anything but!

The twinkletoed two have had a fantastic Christmas, spoilt rotten by the grandparents and they especially loved having Daddy from work for almost two weeks. Benjamin made Simon and I a present - a picture of our family with a Christmas tree. He wrapped it too, and it was the first present opened on the day on his insistence. It's great to see the kids giving as well as receiving. I'm saving his drawings, and I'm going to make a stitchery quilt out of them towards the end of next year.

Duncan and I have been hard at work attempting to finish off three more new designs. They are 90 percent finalised, then it's hard slog for me creating and checking all the patterns. I've also cut up all my lovely indian fabrics for the ornament quilt, and it will be stitchin' time x nine for the next 6 months.

The quilts we've been working on include:
'Counting Sheep' - because everyone likes a punk rocking sheep band. The idea came from drummers counting in the band '1, 2 3, 4!' Yep. I know. That's just the way Duncan's mind works.
'Bible Stories' - Duncan reckons this is the closest he'll EVER get to doing a Noah quilt, so you can stop nagging him now.
'Walk like an Egyptian' - Using a few elements of the previous Egyptian hanging, with a lot more new stuff to make a full on single bed sized extravaganza. Lots of people have made Egyptian stuff for their teens who are 'Egypt mad' so this is something else you can create to fuel the fascination! It's turning out to be a massive pattern, so it won't be cheap, but it will be fun!

Cheers for now!
